One of the goals of the laboratory is to promote the use of qualitative statistical methods in teaching and scientific work at the University of Latvia, while simultaneously promoting interdisciplinary cooperation.
For the preparation of diploma theses or scientific publications, it is often necessary to collect data on the issues under consideration and draw descriptive or generalizing conclusions. In order for the obtained results to be reliable, it is necessary to choose statistical methods appropriate for specific data and apply them correctly.
Following the example of foreign universities, the Laboratory of Statistical Research and Data Analysis provides consultations to UL students and employees on statistical and data processing issues for the preparation of diploma theses or scientific publications.
Currently, consultations are a paid service, and each interested party must pay for the laboratory individually. The consultation fee is determined by agreement and depends on the complexity of the problem and the necessary prior preparation.
