In his presentation, Jānis Valeinis provided an overview of problems in statistics and data science, on which UL doctoral students will be able to receive consultations from LSRDA laboratory specialists with the support of the Doctoral School. More detailed information on applying for consultations will be published on the Doctoral School website.
Interestingly, UL data curator Emīls Siliņš, who spoke about free data curation services and support opportunities for UL researchers, is himself a doctoral student of prof. J. Valeinis, working on his dissertation in the field of probability theory and mathematical statistics.
